Last Monday, February 6, 2023, the second round of participation in the refurbishment of the public space around the ensemble of religious heritage took place in Oudenbosch. Design plans of the various sub-areas were presented to residents, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the special setting of the Basilica. The unique interior of the Basilica, inspired by architects Cuypers and van Swaay on St. Peter's Basilica, offered interested parties the opportunity to sample the atmosphere, which MTD landscape architects have translated into a design plan for the outdoor space.

In April 2022, MTD landscape architects were commissioned to draw up an integral Vision Sketch and Design Plans for the public space around the ensemble of religious heritage in Oudenbosch. The ambition with the plans is primarily to strengthen Oudenbosch's identity as a center of religious heritage on the Mark and Dintel, but also to strengthen the residential quality and green and climate-adaptive qualities of the public space.

At the end of November 2022, in the context of 25 years of the municipality of Halderberge, the mayor symbolically planted the first tree for the project on Jan Gielenplein.
According to planning, the redevelopment of the various sub-areas will be completed by the end of 2025.
