Construction commences on Amersfoort’s Sports complex

With the driving of the first pile on the 13th of January construction works have started on Amersfoort’s Sports complex situated on the Hogeweg. Councilor Buijtelaar together with Mark Westra on behalf of the developer OLCO/Sportsphere and a resident of the city district Hogekwartier have performed the starting act among great interest from the neighboring residents, future residents of the Hogekwartier district, future resident sports cubs, builders and other interested parties.

MTD landscape architects is closely involved in this exciting development, both as a designer of the public areas of the entire new district Hogekwartier, consisting of over 800 new homes, and as drafter of the master plan of the terrains surrounding the new sports complex, including an entrance and neighborhood plaza and the integration of the complex into its surroundings and the water collection area.
MTD landscape architects / urban designers carries out this task on behalf of the housing corporation the Alliance. In the process the office closely collaborates with the Municipality of Amersfoort, the planning supervisor KCAP and the architect of the sports complex Venhoeven CS. The completion of the Sports complex and the neighboring outdoor area is scheduled for late 2017.
