- parks and country estates
Center Parcs De Eemhof is located in De Flevopolder, offering views over the Eemmeer. Its character is largely shaped by a wooded environment with ponds, situated directly on the Eemmeer featuring a harbor and various water sports activities.
In 2018, MTD landscape architects were commissioned to design and enhance the landscape aspects of the park while seamlessly connecting its key functions.
Center Parcs places great emphasis on the natural experience for visitors. Therefore, MTD landscape architects aim to accentuate the natural environment and strengthen the relationship between humans and nature through the design.
Firstly, this was achieved by reintroducing light and air into the park. Overgrown vegetation had created the impression of dense forestation in various areas of the holiday park. MTD's design brings about a renewed balance between nature and the holiday park, creating an appealing wooded atmosphere and enhancing the flora and fauna.
Another adaptation involves the design of a new main route - a boulevard - through the holiday park. This boulevard serves as a recognizable and cohesive path from the revamped entrance to the central facilities and the harbor.
A section of the boulevard is transformed into a beautiful elevated boardwalk over the water, providing serene spots for relaxation and fishing, as well as a boarding point for water bicycles. This boardwalk significantly enhances the water experience around the ponds.
