At the end of December 2020, MTD landscape architects presented the urban development plan for the Noordoevers in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht to the city council. The plan, which was developed on behalf of and in collaboration with ABB Bouwgroep, provides for the realization of approximately 170 homes along de Noord, on the spot where the shipbreaking yards of Stolk, Arbez and Van Vliet were once housed. Important starting points for the plan are to strengthen the area's own identity and to preserve the industrial heritage of the shipbreaking yards, whereby cranes, slipway and dock are given new meaning.
In addition to houses, the intention is to create activity in the plinth of the buildings. In the plan, the quays and water banks have been given a public character, so that this development provides added value for all residents and visitors to Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht.
The Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht city council has received the plan with great enthusiasm.
