Work on Oudedijk Odiliapeel has started

August 11, 2020

At the beginning of 2018, MTD landscape architects was commissioned to draw up a layout plan for the Oudedijk in Odiliapeel. All this was achieved in intensive collaboration with a broadly composed local group and can therefore count on a lot of support and enthusiasm.
Within the development plan, the Oudedijk remains the basis of a long, straight road through the village, which it has always been. This strengthens the identity of the Peel mining village. In combination with a number of traffic engineering measures, through traffic through the village is discouraged.
The Oudedijk and the square space on the Oudedijk will mainly become a residential and meeting space and an area where cyclists and pedestrians can move around safely. The interior enhances the quality of the accommodation, the green character and the village's own identity. An attractive and green center for the village is created, with space for events.

After a planning process of more than two years, the realization of the plans is now starting. Last summer, the tendering procedure took place in which the local contracting company Jan Selten from Uden came out on top and will carry out the work. On Monday, August 24, work will start on the more than 1000 meter long ribbon. The work is expected to last one year and will be completed in July 2021.
The agency wishes the contractor every success with this job and is following the progress with interest.
