Since the spring of 2024, MTD Landscape Architects has been working on a landscape and urban planning follow-up study for Bentinckspark-Noord in Hoogeveen. The design study concerns the programming and landscape design of the area, including functions such as a school for RENN4 (special primary education), a potential location for a new swimming pool, and housing. The study also involves the relocation of the korfball fields and the natural ice rink to another location in Bentinckspark. Variants have been developed for all these program components with ideas for the layout of the area.

MTD is guiding the study and participatory process, including an open evening. About 120 interested parties attended the event at the Activum. MTD presented the draft designs, preliminary plans, and variants, and feedback was collected.

After the summer, the municipal council and the city council will decide which components will be further elaborated, and another meeting with the community will be organized. MTD will develop the plans into an urban development plan, marking another significant step in the spatial development of Bentinckspark Hoogeveen.
